Dear Parents:
FWISD is again sponsoring an audition only Children’s Honor Choir. Any FWISD student currently in grades 4 or 5 may audition for this select ensemble. Auditions will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 PM each Thursday in September beginning September 6, 2021 at Orchestra Hall (4401 Trail Lake Dr. Fort Worth, TX 76107.) Rehearsals will begin on September 20, 2012 for all new and returning students.
The criterion for the audition is as follows:
• Sing - America (My Country ‘Tis of Thee)
• Sing – Are You Sleeping Brother John by yourself and as a round with the director
Students who are selected for this Honor choir will rehearse on Thursdays after school from 4:30 to 5:45 PM at Orchestra Hall Beginning September 20, 2012.
Transportation to and from each event will be the responsibility of the student’s parent or guardian.
Students who were in the choir last year do not need to audition again. I will see you September 20, 2012 at 4:30.
I encourage you to take part in this enrichment program. With the amazing talent we have in Fort Worth, I feel we will have a truly awesome choir.
Student Requirements
1. Open to 4th and 5th grade students in FWISD.
2. Successfully pass an audition with the Choir Director.
3. Maintain passing grades in all your classes.
4. Be courteous and maintain an S or E in conduct.
5. Participate fully in all Rehearsals.
6. Have a positive attitude and sing your best.
Parent Requirements
1. Provide transportation to rehearsals each Thursday beginning 4:30 PM at Orchestra Hall.
2. Pick student up promptly after rehearsals 5:45 PM at Orchestra Hall.
3. Attend performances of the Honor Choir.
4. Purchase your student the appropriate concert apparel.
5. Attend parents meetings.
6. Be willing to volunteer if needed.
