Dear Alice Carlson,
It is with the
utmost amount of gratitude that I send in writing this goodbye letter. The
experience I have had in student teaching has been incredible, and even more
so, unforgettable. I came here quite
nervous and not knowing what to expect, but was warmly welcomed by not just my
cooperating teacher, Tina, but from the students and faculty as well. Music has
been fun for me ever since I knew it existed, and nothing has been more
satisfying than sharing that with others.
I cannot even
begin to say how much I have learned from being here. The students have taught me just as much as I
have taught them. I have grown as a teacher, and my passion for this profession
has grown along with that. I know now more than ever that teaching music is
something I am called to do, and is a part of God’s purpose for me. Never would
I have imagined finding so much more joy than I already had with teaching, but
that as well has grown beyond belief.
These students
have without a doubt changed my life. Maybe that seems a little much, but I
really do say that in all honesty and with all sincerity. I now feel prepared
for the future, when I have my own music classroom at another school. I
certainly look forward to that day with much excitement.
I have been very
blessed to be given the opportunity to do my student teaching at Alice Carlson,
and I thank all of the wonderful students, faculty, and of course Tina for all
of the support and kindness.
