Recorder Letter

Nov 6,2012

Dear Fourth Grade Parents

Fourth grade students in the Fort Worth Independent School District will again take part in the Communities Link UP! Program with the Fort Worth Symphony. This is made possible through the Weill Music Institute under the auspices of the Isaac Stern Education Legacy, a federally funded program at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY. This year's program is called Orchestra Sings.

As a part of the grant each student will receive a free music student textbook.

Each student needs to be prepared to present this program in a manner consistant with the excellence provided by the Fort Worth Symphony.

The students participate by singing and playing the soprano recorder with the Fort Worth Symphony. Due to the number of students involved the interactive concert is not a public performance.

Seating is limited to the students and their teachers. The students will be playing their recorders and singing with the symphony.

Our children will be making beautiful musical memories that will last them a lifetime.
